DUI Defense in Cobb County

The Cobb County State Court is where Ben does most of his work as a Cobb County DUI Lawyer. This is where all DUI jury trials in Cobb County are conducted. If you are charged with DUI in one of the municipal courts and want a jury trial, the case must be bound over to the State Court. The State Court is located at 12 East Park Square, Marietta, GA, 30090. If you have court there, you will want to arrive early as the line to get through security is generally very long.

The Cobb County State Court is divided into Division 1 and Division 2. Every type of misdemeanor, including DUIs, is prosecuted in Division 1, whereas Division 2 is all traffic-related, also including DUIs. Both divisions now handle jury trials. Thus, if your case is bound over from a municipal court, your case could end up in either division, which has no impact on the ultimate course your case will take.

Division 1 is comprised of seven State Court Judges. They are:

  • Judge Allison Barnes Salter
  • Judge John Morgan
  • Judge Jane Manning
  • Judge David Darden
  • Judge Carl Bowers
  • Judge Maria Golick
  • Judge Toby Prodgers

Division 2 is comprised of five State Court Judges. They are:

  • Judge Bridgette Campbell
  • Judge Marsha Lake
  • Judge Henry Thompson
  • Judge Eric Brewton
  • Judge Jason Fincher

All cases prosecuted in the Cobb County State Court are prosecuted by the Solicitor General of Cobb County. They are located at 10 East Park Square, Marietta, GA, 30090. Each courtroom is generally assigned two assistant solicitors, with each one assuming responsibility for prosecuting names beginning with half the letters of the alphabet. In other words, in any particular courtroom, one assistant solicitor will handle every case where the defendant has a last beginning with A-K, and the other assistant handles M-Z. Their website can be found here

"Without a Doubt the Best"

"I would highly recommend Ben. There were not any surprises or extra costs. He was very clear on what to expect. Even more impressive was what happened before I went to court and while in court, everything happened exactly as Ben had told me it would. When I was in the court room and Ben needed to make things happen, he was so articulate I felt as though I had an entire team of lawyers."

"Truly an attorney with not just intellect but heart!"

"When Mr. Goldberg came into my life, he went against all odds, believed in my innocence, fought for my justice, and supported me as my lawyer and my friend. I personally believe that when Mr. Goldberg chose to practice law, his goal was not money nor prestige, but was only the well-being of the client. More specifically, he values the lives of the individuals he represents and provides them with the best defense to see to it that justice is served."
